My Geph app crashes on my MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon, running macOS 26.5.
The crash report shows SIGABRT in gephgui-wry , on thread blocking-1 .
When I run the bundled entrypoint with --version , it crashes with this message:
rfd-0.15.0/src/backend/macos/utils.rs:26:13
You are running RFD in NonWindowed environment, it is impossible to spawn dialog from thread different than main in this env.
This appears to be a panic in the RFD macOS dialog backend. Could you confirm whether this is a known issue and provide a signed, notarized macOS build compatible with Apple Silicon and macOS 26.5?
I have preserved the application data and can provide the full crash report if needed.
You can try a complete uninstall with terminal command to remove all geph files and caches:
sudo /Applications/Geph.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh
and then re-install to see if it solves your problem.
The official pkg is a Universal release which contains both Apple Silicon and Intel binaries. I suspect the Intel binary could cause some compatibility issue on latest MacOS (espacially on MacOS27) since it removed the Rosetta support. I have been using an Apple Silicon verision built by myself with the geph official codes on MacOS26.x, and never seen this issue that you are having. However, Geph never provided a dedicated Apple Silicon version officially.
If above suggestion doesn't help, here's another option - my newly developed Geph GUI App, it's natively built with Rust and the Slint GUI toolkit, which solves a lot of troubles caused by the official version's WebView architecture.
My build doesn't have the signature since I don't pay Apple to become a developer, if this is a concern to you, you may need a different solution.
