Hey guys, if you're having issues with your geph application on Mac OS, don't worry! Just follow these simple steps and you'll be back up and running in no time.
Step A: Find "geph4-client" on Mac OS
First off, go to your Application folder and right-click on Geph. Then, click "Show Package Contents" and navigate to Contents -- MacOS -- Bin. Right-click on the Bin folder and start a terminal there.
Step B: Start geph in Terminal
Edit the following line, then type it into the terminal:
sudo ./geph4-client connect --username "***" --password "***" --vpn-mode tun-no-route --exit-server ***
The first and second *** are your own username and password for the geph application. Don't forget to enclose them in double quotes. The third *** is the hostname you want to use as the exit. Let's say you wanna exit through Switzerland, whose host name is ch-zrh-01.exits.geph.io. Just replace the third *** with ch-zrh-01.exits.geph.io. At the end of the post, you will find the country and host names.
Step C: Fill in proxy information
Open System Preferences, type "proxy" in the search box, and you'll find "WEB Proxy" and "SOCKS Proxy" options. Check them and enter 127.0.0.0 and 9910 for the former and 127.0.0.0 and 9909 for the latter. Be careful with the port numbers.
Step D: Set up your browsers
For example, if you're using Firefox, go to settings, type "proxy" in the search box, and check "Use system proxy settings." Click OK to apply the change. Some browsers don't support system-wide proxies, so you'll have to manually enter http and socks5 proxy information in their own settings page. See step C for that.
That's it, you're good to go! Enjoy browsing with geph.
